Zanpakutō in Bleach: Shikai, Bankai and powers explained
Partager
What is a Zanpakutō?
The Zanpakutō is the weapon used by the Shinigami in Bleach. But unlike a simple sword, it possesses its own identity and personality.
Shinigami gradually develop a relationship with their Zanpakutō and learn to use its various forms.
Shikai
The Shikai corresponds to the first release form of the Zanpakutō.
To use it, the Shinigami must know the name of their weapon and be capable of communicating with its spirit.
The release generally transforms the Zanpakutō's abilities.
Bankai
The Bankai represents a higher stage.
Mastering it requires considerable training and allows the Shinigami to access significantly greater power.
The effects vary greatly depending on the Zanpakutō.
Why is every Zanpakutō different?
One of the distinctive features of Bleach is that not all Zanpakutō are based on the same type of power.
Some are tied to elements, others to concepts, transformations, or unique abilities.
This variety contributes significantly to the identity of the Bleach universe.
